During the previous government’s tenure, the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) abruptly suspended the accounts of 850,000 beneficiaries, denying them an opportunity to appeal. However, the current administration has taken significant steps towards rectification, reinstating the accounts of 192,000 individuals. Among these, 95,000 people have already received relief funds.

A special bonus of Rs. 3000 is awarded to girls upon completion of primary education, promoting education among underprivileged girls.
Eligibility Criteria for BISP:
The program’s eligibility criteria encompass families with a monthly income below 40 thousand rupees, without government-employed members, with landholdings not exceeding two acres, and a poverty score below 20 percent. Widows are also eligible, provided they present their husband’s death certificate.
