Ehsaas Program is a social welfare initiative launched by the Government of Pakistan in 2019 with the aim to provide financial assistance to poor and needy segments of society to help them with education, healthcare, financial assistance, and employment.
The program has several different initiatives under the umbrella of 8171 Ehsaas Programme. The eligibility criteria for all initiatives are different depending on the program.

BISP New Payment Check By CNIC:
To check your BISP payment by CNIC, you can use any of the following methods:
- Send an SMS to 8171. Type your CNIC number and send it to 8171. You will receive a reply message with your BISP payment status.
- Use the BISP website. Go to the BISP website and click on the “Check Payment” link. Enter your CNIC number and click on “Submit”. You will be able to see your BISP payment status on the next page.
- Visit a BISP One Window Center. You can also check your BISP payment status at a BISP One Window Center. To find a BISP One Window Center near you, visit the BISP website and click on the “Find a Center” link.
New payment mechanism:
The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) is introducing a new payment mechanism for its beneficiaries. Under the new system, beneficiaries will be able to choose to receive their payments in their bank accounts instead of through the traditional cash transfer system.
To receive your BISP payments in your bank account, you need to register your bank account with BISP. You can do this by sending an SMS to 8171 with the following text:
BISP <space> BANK <space> ACCOUNT NUMBER
For example, if your bank account number is 123456789012, you would send the following SMS:
BISP BANK 123456789012
Once you have registered your bank account with BISP, you will start receiving your payments in your bank account within a few weeks.
Note: The new payment mechanism is not yet available to all BISP beneficiaries. It is currently being rolled out in phases. If you are not able to register your bank account with BISP yet, you will continue to receive your payments through the traditional cash transfer system.
