BIG NEWS: BISP Announced BISP Registration

BISP Initiates Registration for Underprivileged Individuals

Federal Minister Shazia Murri of the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) has declared the initiation of registrations for the program. Emphasizing the need to expand the program’s reach, she has urged the inclusion of new eligible individuals to ensure financial assistance for the impoverished. Murri highlighted that those currently not benefiting from the program are encouraged to enroll to access the financial aid offered through this initiative.

The Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) has been confronted with complaints indicating that deserving individuals are yet to receive financial assistance. The NSER survey, conducted years ago, included families who were financially stable at that time. However, circumstances have changed, leading to financial hardships for many, including elderly individuals unable to work and families facing financial strain due to the loss of their breadwinners.

For instance, there are women coping with the loss of their husbands while supporting their own families, requiring financial aid to sustain their households. In response, the Benazir Income Support Program has taken the decision to reopen registrations, aiming to include an additional 9 million beneficiaries in the program.

The revamped registration process has been streamlined for ease. Previously, representatives would visit homes to collect information and enroll individuals. Now, the dynamic survey method has been introduced. To register, individuals need to visit their nearest Benazir Income Support Program office to complete the registration process.
